Her use of recycled materials transcends art activism, creating beauty out of environmental waste. Krystyna’s works of woven art have been exhibited in Asia, Canada, Australia, the US, Poland and many countries in Europe. Artist Statement I am fascinated with experimenting and searching for new and abstract ways to express myself through fine art tapestry weaving. Inspired by the cosmos, I am interested in colour, form, texture, light, and space, rather than creating realistic images. For the past few years, I have been concentrating on creating woven pieces from recyclable material (plastic foil, videotape, transparent packing tape, synthetic yarn). With this new work, I hope to bring attention to the need to protect the environment and increase self-consciousness regarding our responsibility for environmental waste. Sometimes, I feel a little trapped in everyday life. So, I turn to symmetry, which always calms me down. I am especially enamoured with circles, which allow me to hide inside them becoming a gateway to my very own dreamland.
