Pinto beans are one of those items you always want to have at home, especially if they are homemade. As long as you have beans made, you can use them to make Charro beans, refried beans, as a side dish and much more! INGREDIENTS: 1lb of Pinto Beans 8 cups of water 3 teaspoons of minced garlic 2.5 teaspoons of salt (add more if needed, season to your liking) INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Lay beans on clean countertop and remove any visible rocks or unappealing looking beans 2) Rinse under running water 3) In larger pot, pour beans, 8 cups of water, and 3 teaspoons of minced garlic 4) Set temperature on a low heat and cook for about 2 hours - make sure you are checking them periodically to determine if yours may need to be cooked slightly less or longer depending on your stove/range. 5) About 10-15 minutes before they finish cooking, add in your salt. Taste the broth (be careful it will be hot) to determine if you would like to add more salt. That's all! Let them cool off before storing them in the fridge or freezer. NOTES/TIPS: Please remember you can double or triple the portions for a larger serving size. Freeze these in a glass container, they last a lot longer and they are easy to reheat Pinto beans last about 4 days in the fridge or up to 5 months in the freezer
