Hi Pythonistas! We hope everybody is doing well! We have a very exciting talk on 16 March, at 20:30 (Turkish Time)! Carl Friedrich Bolz-Tereick will talk about fast Python execution, and it will be a very interesting talk because he has been a core developer in the PyPy project since 2005 and has worked on almost all aspects of the interpreter, so we are talking about a wide experience here. Abstract: Python is often seen as a "slow" language. In this interactive talk I will discuss the reasons why Python is hard to optimize and present some approaches for running it faster anyway. In particular, I will give an introduction to PyPy, an alternative Python implementation that has a just-in-time compiler that I have been a core developer of since many years. bio: Carl Friedrich Bolz-Tereick is broadly interested in the efficient implementation of dynamic languages. He cares for the Python language in particular and teaches it at Düsseldorf University, but has also worked on Prolog, Smalltalk, and PHP implementations. He's the primary caregiver of two small children, likes going on walks and looking at public art.
