Well pump installation Part 3 Electrical, Pump Controller, and yard hydrant In this Video we install the frost free yard hydrant, the pump control box, fuse panel, and temporary power supply. Excuse my low energy on this one. I had a cold this week and was moving a little slow. We installed and connected all the electrical for the well pump. Pump controller and electrical panel. pretty simple install. The pump controller is marked clearly so if you matched the colors at the pump to the pump cable you really cant screw it up. Connection from the pump controller to the fuse panel was simple enough. The pump is a 220 1.5 hp pump and requires 2 legs and no common so just 2 wires from the double pole breaker to the pump controller. To supply power to the fuse panel I used an extension cord I found at harbor freight. Its a 220 cord set up for generator's. I cut and stripped about 1 ft of cable from the female plug end and wired it into the fuse panel. Once again everything was color coded so that made it simple. white to the common bar, green to the ground bar , red and black are the 2 legs and they connect the the bus bars that the fuses snap into.
