Stay tuned until the end for a tour of our AirBnb, our top recommendations, and our cost breakdown for 7 days in Coatepec. In this video we will share some things to do in and around Coatepec, Veracruz. We stop by a beautiful (and easy to get to) waterfall near the Pueblo Magico of Xico (Cascada De Texolo). The next day we were lucky to see the town of Coatepec celebrate their saints day (San Jeronimo) with a huge parade where people carried many large offertas decorated in beautiful flowers, launched tons of cohetes (giant bottle rockets), and dressed in various costumes. It started out pretty calm, but by the end it turned into a street party. We've said it before... Mexico knows how to party! We stop by the Pueblo Magico of Xico where we see a museum of celebratory dresses (Museo del Vestido de Santa María Magdalena) as well as their traditional dance museum (Museo del Danzante Xiqueño). Back in Coatepec we check out a couple of markets, and discover what became of all of the offertas that were in the parade. Veracruz is known for their coffee so we stop by a coffee plantation (Museo Bola de Oro Finca Roma) for a tour. We learn every step of the process, from seed to cup. The next day we head over to the capital of Veracruz - Xalapa to see their anthropology museum (Museo de Antropología de Xalapa) which houses many colossal Olmec heads. After lunch we stop by a beautiful park (Parque "Los Tecajetes"), before visiting centro, and finally heading back to Coatepec to sample a local beverage.
