PRESS RELEASE NORTH-EAST DISTRICT DATED -01.03.2023 CYBER STALKER, WHO CREATED FAKE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS AND UPLOADED MORPHED IMAGES/ MOBILE NUMBER OF GIRL TO TAKE REVENGE, ARRESTED BY CYBER POLICE STATION/ NORTH EAST DISTRICT, DELHI • ONE MOBILE PHONE & TWO SIM CARDS USED IN THE COMMISSION OF CRIME RECOVERED. On 03.02.23, complaint from a lady regarding creating of fake Instagram accounts in her name with her morphed images by some unknown person was received at Cyber PS Jyoti Nagar, North-East District. During course of enquiry by a dedicated team comprising W/SI Munesh, HC Harsh & Const. Vivek under the supervision of SHO/Cyber PS/NED, three Instagram accounts containing obscene pictures and morphed images of the complainant were found. Personal mobile number of the complainant was also found mentioned in the Instagram account. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 06/2023 dated 27.02.23 u/s 354A/354D/509/109 IPC, PS Cyber Police Station, North East District was registered and investigation was taken up. During investigation, Registrant details and IP log address of alleged Instagram profile were obtained from the Facebook Headquarters, USA. On the basis of obtained information, through technical surveillance, location of the mobile phone used in creating Instagram account was traced to the Loni area of Ghaziabad, (UP). Human intelligence through local sources at Loni was gathered and on 28.02.23, in the early hours, a person namely Roshan was apprehended from Ankur Enclave, Loni, Ghaziabad (U.P). The mobile phone and two SIM cards used in the commission of crime were also recovered from his possession. On sustained interrogation, he admitted to, creating fake Instagram accounts and disclosed that some time before he used to reside at a rented accommodation in Mukund Vihar, Karawal Nagar. One day he had a heated argument with his girlfriend during which the complainant (a friend of his girlfriend) also got involved and he abused her also. On being abused the complainant called her brothers and got Roshan beaten up. To avenge his insult, he downloaded her photos from her WhatsApp profile & created three fake Instagram accounts in the name of complainant and uploaded her morphed pictures with her mobile number. Further investigation in the case is under progress. ARRESTED PERSONS • Roshan Sharma R/o Ankur Enclave, Loni, Ghaziabad, UP, Age-23 years. He studied up to 10th class and works as an Auto Driver. RECOVERY • One mobile phone • Two SIM Cards used in the commission of crime.
