Monterrey (Rayados) The Club de Fútbol Monterrey, commonly known as the Rayados, is a prominent professional football team based in Monterrey. Established on June 28, 1945, it holds the distinction of being the oldest active professional team in northern Mexico. The team’s nickname, “Rayados” (The Striped-Ones), originates from their traditional navy blue striped uniforms. Over the years, the Rayados have achieved significant success, securing five league titles, three domestic cups, and five CONCACAF Champions League titles. Their home games are played at the Estadio BBVA, a modern stadium with a capacity of 53,500 spectators.  The Rayados have a storied rivalry with Tigres UANL, known as the “Clásico Regiomontano,” which is one of the most intense and passionately contested derbies in Mexican football. Both teams consistently rank among the highest in attendance and feature some of the most expensively assembled squads in the country.
