Israeli demonstrators gathered in protest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government and called for the release of hostages held in Gaza. Footage captured by Associated Press showed security officers pushing protesters from the road and dispersing the crowd with a water cannon. Divisions among the Israelis have deepened about how Netanyahu has handled the war against Hamas after the deadly attack on October 7th that killed about 1,200 people and where 250 were taken hostages. Earlier this week the bodies of three hostages killed on Oct 7. were recovered from Gaza, Israel’s army said Friday, while the United Nations court ruled that Israel must halt its military operations in Rafah and allow humanitarian aid enter into the enclave. The bodies of Hanan Yablonka, Michel Nisenbaum, and Orion Hernandez Radoux were found and their families have been notified. The army said they were killed on the day of the attack at the Mefalsim intersection and their bodies were taken to Gaza. The announcement came less than a week after the army said it found the bodies of three other Israeli hostages killed on Oct. 7. Around half of the 250 hostages taken by Hamas and other militants on October 7th have been freed, most in swaps for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel during a weeklong cease-fire in November. Israel says around 100 hostages are still captive in Gaza, along with the bodies of around 30 more. Israel responded to the October 7 attack by launching an offensive in Gaza, that killed at least 35 thousand Palestinians according to Gaza's Health Ministry, which doesn’t distinguish between combatants and civilians. =========================================================== Clients are reminded to adhere to all listed restrictions and to check the terms of their licence agreements.
