The Cars of Gerry Anderson's "The Secret Service" (2020 Edition) - Lloyd Vehicle Consulting

Following on from several other videos about cars used in old ITC series, I decided today to cover the predecessor to Gerry Anderson's "UFO", The Secret Service! Filmed in 1968 and 1969 and broadcast in 1969, The Secret Service starred Stanley Unwin as country vicar Father Stanley Unwin, who is an undercover secret agent for B.I.S.H.O.P., a branch of British Intelligence. Assisted by his outwardly slow witted, but actually very competent gardener Matthew, Father Unwin's mission was to keep Britain safe from her enemies, both as a puppet and a real life actor (this makes perfect sense if you watch the series). Filmed with both puppets and live actors, and using a combination of miniature sets and real locations in London and the Home Counties, mainly Buckinghamshire, The Secret Service is an absolutely wonderful, albeit short-lived, series, and is well worth watching. Be prepared for a discussion of luxury Ford models, incomplete information about episodes and number plates, and a real affection for what must be the most underrated Gerry Anderson show ever.
