A teenager learning her name. It sounds absurd that Abbie is 13 and can't use sign language to say her own name but if you think about it what everyday use does it have for her? We don't go around speaking in third person so teaching her to communicate her name has always been a challenge because there is no reinforcer for it. We could change the sign so it's not as similar to bath but eventually we would run out of sign gestures because of her limited muscle control for more complex movements.
