"Vision Thing" is the title track from The Sister of Mercy's third album released in 1990. The track was written by band leader and mainstay Andrew Eldritch. Tony James is listed on the album credits as the bassist but it is believed that the parts on the album are sequenced. This song is very good practice of alternate picking technique. Try playing 7 and a half minutes of near constant quavers at 150BPM using only downstrokes! In addition to the onscreen tab, PDF and Guitar Pro format copies are available here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/69d54t6h8a... The bass part was recorded in Reason using a Dean Edge bass (strung with Fender flatwound strings - these give a less "picky" sound than if you use roundwounds when using a plectrum) , into an ART DI box, then into a Steinberg UR44C audio interface. The audio was processed with the SSL Master Compressor Rack Extension to even out the sound. The video was filmed using a Samsung A41 smartphone. The tab was created using Go PlayAlong 4 and captured using NCH Debut. This was then composited and edited using DaVinci Resolve 16.
