This mirrors Perplexity’s own headline move earlier in the week, offering $34.5 billion to buy Google Chrome from Alphabet. It follows Perplexity’s January 2025 offer to acquire TikTok US. Perplexity Finance Supports Indian Stocks Perplexity Finance now supports Indian stocks, with upcoming India-specific features like price alerts and stock screening. Aravind Srinivas also revealed discussions with Zerodha founders Nikhil Kamath and Nithin Kamath, promising updates soon. Aryabhatta 1.0 Paper Drop AthenaAgent and PhysicsWallah AI have released the Aryabhatta 1.0 paper, detailing the JEE Math-focused model’s training dataset composition, methodologies, and exploration techniques using RLVR. The model was open-sourced on July 22, 2025. The Residency Two Wildcard Slots The Residency has opened two wildcard slots for its hacker house in HSR Layout for applicants from the Delta pool in India. Three finalists were also selected for The Residency’s San Francisco program, including Abhinav Gupta of Breethr, developing next-gen air conditioning with a global vision starting from India. OSM Dubai Expansion Plan Omega Seiki Mobility will invest $25 million over five years to set up an EV assembly plant in Dubai, focusing on electric autorickshaws, mopeds, and trucks. The plant will serve as an export hub for the Middle East and Africa, with plans to also produce CNG-powered vehicles for parts of Africa. Omega Seiki Mobility has sold 20,000 vehicles and established 160 dealerships in India. Oben Electric Expansion Plan Oben Electric plans to expand into the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America by 2027, starting with the delivery of its Rorr EZ Sigma electric motorcycle on August 15. The bike offers a top speed of 95 km/h, a range of 175 km, and prices starting at ₹1 lakh. Cureous Labs Raises Rs. 1.66 Crore Cureous Labs has raised ₹1.66 crore (about $189,000) in a seed round led by Inflection Point Ventures with Anthill Ventures participating. The medtech startup is building Eturnal, India’s first intelligent automatic patient repositioning system to prevent bedsores and related complications. CtrlS Expands to Kolkata CtrlS has launched Kolkata’s first Rated-4 data center in Newtown as part of a ₹2,200 crore Eastern India data center ecosystem plan. Rated-4 centers have two active delivery paths, full redundancy, and only 20–30 minutes of downtime annually. NeuralGarage Dubs War 2 in Telugu Bengaluru-based NeuralGarage has dubbed the film War 2 in Telugu using AI for lip-syncing and voice cloning. NTR Jr. dubbed his own lines, while Hrithik Roshan’s voice was AI-generated. This follows other AI use cases in Indian cinema, including an AI-altered ending for the re-release of Raanjhanaa. Maya Research Is Hiring Maya Research, creator of the Indic text-to-speech model Veena, is hiring remote talent with salaries between ₹1 lakh and ₹1.2 lakh per month to work on complex AI problems. Co-founder Dheemanth Reddy announced the openings on X. Satpal Singh Rathore From Lossfunk Is Hiring Satpal Singh Rathore, a resident at Lossfunk, is hiring an RL engineer to work on social reasoning projects using LLMs in simulated environments.
