An average MOT test takes between 45 and 60 minutes, but there are a couple of other things to take into consideration. 🚗How much is an MOT test? Regular car is for £54.85 🚗What is the MOT procedure? An MOT involves dozens of checks on your car, ranging from the brakes and fuel system to lights, mirrors, seatbelts, windscreen wipers and exhaust system. It doesn't cover the condition of the engine, clutch and gearbox. 🚗What are mot test requirements? A general inspection of the body, chassis, engine mountings, seats, bonnet, boot and doors will be carried out as part of your MOT checks. All components must be free from excessive corrosion and must not have any sharp edges that might cause injury. 🚗Can you drive your car away if it fails the MOT? Basically, you can drive your vehicle away with an MoT fail even if you have an old valid MoT certificate still in date, unless a 'dangerous' issue has been listed on the paperwork and the minimum standards of roadworthiness aren't met. 🚗What documents do I need for MOT? The appointment letter; vehicle registration logbook V5C(NI); current tax disk; vehicle insurance certificate; previous MOT certificate; driving license; proof of address; service history; any current Certificate or Notice of Refusal; the bus fare home. 🚗Is oil level checked in MOT? The oil check is an important part of an MOT because without it, the garage will not be able to test emission levels. You can check this by taking a quick look under the bonnet. As you would when checking the brake fluid, do this test with the engine off and cool and the car parked on a flat, even surface.
