➡️About this Video : Story of Uttarkashi Temple || काशी विश्वनाथ मंदिर की कहानी || Kashi vishwanath temple uttarkashi Kashi Vishwanath Mandir Uttarkashi || Tilted Shiva Linga Story || Maa Durga Trishul Darshan ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Kashi Vishwanath temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is said to have been initially built by Sage Parshuram. Legend is that Lord Shiva considers this as his abode for the second part of the Kaliyuga. It is said that when Kashi or Varanasi is submerged under water, Lord Kashi Vishwanath will be shifted to this temple in Uttarkashi. The tradition has it that this sage Rishi Markandeya had so much love and devotion to Lord Shiva that the Lord himself protected the sage from Yama, the God of Death, who came to take the sage's life at this very place where the temple is situated. Lord Shiva is manifest here, immersed in deep meditation, showering his blessings upon all humanity. The Shivlingam here is 56 cm in height and has a tilt to the south. In the sanctum sanctorum, there are also Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha. Nandi is in the outer chamber of the temple. The image of Sakshi Gopal and the sage Markandeya is seen represented here in meditation. Shakti Temple, dedicated to Goddess Parvati, is situated just opposite the Vishwanath Temple. The main attraction here is a huge and heavy trishul (trident) - 6 meters in height and 90 cms at the bottom, which was thrown at the devils by Goddess Durga. Mother Shakti is found represented here as a giant trishul or trident, which is estimated to be over 1500 years old and is regarded as one of the oldest relics of Uttarakhand. It has Tibetan inscriptions on it, indicating extensive Indo-Tibetan culture exchanges during ancient times. The details of the Naga Dynasty are found inscribed on the metal trident, which is over 26 feet high, kept in front of the main Shiva temple.
