It was the dream holiday that turned into disaster. While travelling in Laos, British lawyer Simone White fell ill after drinking free shots at the Nana Backpackers Hostel in Vang Vieng. After being taken to a private medical facility, hospital staff suspected she was suffering from methanol poisoning - a deadly chemical that can be found in counterfeit alcohol. Despite their best efforts, Simone tragically died from brain damage just a week later.
