I'm under no illusion that the next year is going to be difficult for me. Not just in terms of my health but in terms of money. I need to find a way to adapt my content so that I can still make videos even though I can no longer sew. I have some ideas but they're by no means fully fleshed out yet. I'd love to know what you think or if you have any suggestions for how I can make it through this difficult time. For sources about poverty in the UK: Much of the data comes from the Joseph Roundtree Foundation: https://www.jrf.org.uk/ I used this table from Trust For London to easily understand the data and see how it compares: https://trustforlondon.org.uk/data/po... I must admit seeing this data like this was shocking to me. In many ways I consider myself extremely privileged. But the impartial facts of my life are that I am completely dependent on the charity of my friends and family. I am incredibly lucky to have that but seeing just how desperate my position would be without they're support was a shock. Do I personally consider myself destitute? No. But the fact my reality is a choice between living off of the charity of my parents and destitution has certainly made me feel more vulnerable. So I hope you'll understand that what I'm trying to do here is not just make more money because I want that Influencer Flex Lifestyle. I'm just trying to build some financial security into my life through the only means that is currently available to me. ☕You will have heard me mention my Ko-fi members so I thought I'd explain a little more about how that works. Ko-fi is a platform where you can tip your favourite creators for the work they produce by buying them 'a cup of coffee'. You can do a one off tip or sign up to contribute every month from as little as £3 (the price of a cup of coffee, get it?) This regular donation entitles you to exclusive content only available on Ko-fi. In my case my Ko-fi members get access to my videos 24hrs before everyone else, the chance to participate in giveaways where I give away things I've made, and they get exclusive updates about what I've been working on. I really couldn't make these videos without them. They cover the cost of all the supplies I buy for sewing and knitting projects so I can keep on doing this.
