O' Gannana (ܐܘ ܓܢܢܐ) – “O Gardener! This ancient hymn recounts Mary Magdalene’s encounter at the empty tomb and the glory of Christ’s triumph over death. Oh gardener! How beautiful is your garden: In it, there is a tomb and the bridechamber inside it. The guardians are sitting at the tomb, and cherubim are around the chamber. "How nice of you, Mary, calling Me gardener" Mary came to the tomb in sorrow and saw the stone rolled away from the tomb. "Where is He, that glorious light? Where is He, that splendour of our humanity?" "Who took that light? And where did they hide it?” Mary wept as she said, "They took away (stole) my son. " Joseph said, "Be calm, Mary; no one took Him away. "That fire, who can approach it?: That sea, who can split it?" "Who is that can fall into such a fire and not be burned?" The sun was darkened when our Lord was on the cross; it (sun) ran and hid so that it could not see Him on the cross. The ground shook when He descended into it, and from His voice the rocks broke. Blessed is the Lord who defeated the cross and death. "To you O gardener, I adjure you by the living God: if you have cast Him out of your garden, And you were upset by his pure smell, so that your seeds and greens don't rotten." Give him to me, so that I might be comforted: by Him I am the miserable" "Mary, Mary" heard from a spiritual (angel voice): "Why are you weeping? And whom are you seeking?" "Are you asking for Jesus, who was crucified? He is not here! He has risen in glory!" "See the place where He was laid: He is the light of the glory" Mary listened to the sweetness of His voice: from the sorrow, she turned to happiness. In great bliss, she ran quickly to bring the disciples glad tidings of His resurrection, and they believed and confirmed that the Lord is risen in glory. Glory to His name at all ages and times: thanksgiving to the Father who sent Him for our salvation and praise Hallelujah for the Holy Spirit: one unseen nature incomprehensible: His mercies will be upon us: forever and ever Amen
