Dr. Ebraheim’s educational animated video describes anatomy of the Flexor Carpi Ulnaris muscle in the forearm. The FCU arises from two heads: the humeral head from a common flexor tendon origin of the medial epicondyle and the ulnar head from the olecranon and posterior border of the ulna. Insertion: it inserts on the pisiform bone, the hamate and the 5th metacarpal bone. Action: flexes and ulnar deviates the hand at the wrist. Innervation: ulnar nerve. The ulnar nerve passes between the two heads of the FCU in contrast to the median nerve, which goes between the two heads of the pronator teres.
