Asma Dahir is a Stanford physician assistant student who is passionate about public health and equitable care for marginalized groups. She was inspired to pursue a career in medicine after witnessing her grandmother, who had hepatitis A, struggle to understand and manage her disease. "Seeing the lack of health care back home in Somalia and in the refugee camps and how many of these diseases can be prevented, I want to pursue my passion in integrating public health and medicine together in order to provide diagnostic care and really help marginalized communities get ahead of their disease states."
