I know lots of Chess fans might disagree but I can't help thinking that this recording is by far the best version of this amazing play. The Danish cast's voices just fit up together and flow harmoniously. This version contains the last changes in the lyrics which leaves no way for comparison between in and the original cast in both London and Broadway. But if you compare Emma Kershaw and Stig Rossen as a duet to the most recent version's heroes (Josh Groban and Idina Menzel) you have to admit that there is much harmony in the first couple. Idina is wonderful singer and performer and no one will sing (Defying Gravity) as she did but her voice just didn't fit with Josh's strong dominating voice. Another different appears in (Quartet) track where this version trumps any other. Starring: Emma Kershaw as Florence, Stig Rossen as the Russian (Anatole), Zubin Varla as Freddi, Simon Clark as Molokov, Michael Cormick as The Arbiter, James Graeme as Walter and Gunilla Backman as Anatole's wife.
