A peaceful day exploring Kinabalu Park, surrounded by misty mountains and cool air. The journey started with a walk through the Mount Kinabalu Botanical Garden, where unique plants and flowers thrive in the crisp highland weather. It’s one of the best places to see the park’s incredible biodiversity up close. Lunch at Liwagu Restaurant was warm and cozy, with beautiful views of the forest just outside the windows. After that came a visit to the Kinabalu Geopark Gallery, a small but meaningful stop that shares stories about the mountain’s geology, nature, and conservation. Kinabalu Park is Malaysia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, and entrance fees help support the protection of its rare ecosystem. As of now, the conservation fee for Malaysians is RM10 for adults and RM5 for children, while international visitors pay RM50 for adults and RM25 for children. The botanical garden is located within the park and has a separate entrance fee of RM4 for Malaysians and RM5 for international visitors. It’s a calm and beautiful place to slow down, breathe in the mountain air, and learn a little more about Sabah’s natural heritage.
