Today we're going to be taking a look at part number GL-1. This is the gorilla lift utility trailer tailgate lift assist. It's a two-sided tailgate assist, which is a little bit different compared to other tailgate assists out on the market. It's going to attach to both side rails on a trailer, and it's actually a benefit because it's going to prevent the trailer gates from warping or the hinges from wear from uneven stress. So actually having it installed on both sides is a great benefit because it's going to extend or it can extend the life of the trailer gate. This unit, once installed, is going to reduce the lifting force that's necessary to lift or lower the tailgate, so it can be raised and lowered with virtually no effort. Makes it very lightweight, very easy to operate, and very simple to do. It's going to help prevent costly injuries, possibly property damage. It's going to attach to your trailer quickly and easily. Now, you can see all the different components that it comes with. I have everything that's included laid out here on the table. Right here is going to be our cables. Now the cables are going to run to spring. The spring . I have everything laid out here. You have the tubing, the spring, the cables, all the hardware. You're going to get instructions with it, very detailed, very great instructions. And then you're also going to get some replacement pins, which are great to have. And these are going to be your rollers that install here on the ends of the tubing. And that's going to help guide the cable. It's going to reduce the wear and tear on the cable. Those rollers are great. We'll go over those in a little bit more detail here in a moment. Now the tubing is going to be two pieces. It's going to measure 72 inches long, which is going to be 6 feet. One gets installed on one side of the trailer, the other one gets installed on the other. Now the springs are actually going to be located in the back portion here of the tubing. It's got some holes back here and the hardware necessary to get that fully installed. The cable's going to run out through the end right here, and then it's got the loop end that's going to attach to the tailgate on your trailer. So as your tailgate lowers, pretty self explanatory, it's going to extend the spring out and then raising back up, it's going to retract the spring and that's what makes it so easy to do. I just wanted to take a few moments to go over the different parts here that are laid out on the table. The cable's going to give us a diameter of about 3/16 of an inch. It's made from a stainless steel construction. Very strong, durable, it's going to last a long time. The length of our springs . These all measure 25 inches, and then the length of the cable is going to measure 58 inches long. The springs are going to feature an eco-finish, so they're going to stand up well against the elements and against rust and corrosion. The rollers, that's going to be these right here, these are going to be machined from a high density, hard, thermoplastic compound. They're self-lubricating, so you don't have to worry about lubricating those. Those are very strong and very durable as well. Again, the length of the housing, we're going to double check that and make sure that the measurement I gave you is accurate. From one end to the other, it measures right at 72 inches, which again is going to be 6 feet in length. It's going to give us a measurement of 2 inches by 2 inches, so a nice square tubing design. Solid steel construction. Has a really nice textured powder coat finish on it, so that's going to prevent rust and corrosion. When installing this, again, you can see it's in two pieces. Gorilla is going to recommend using a thin bead of clear silicone. That's going to seal any gap that we may have between our two pieces of steel. That's going to prevent any type of dirt or moisture or debris from getting in there and causing any type of rust or corrosion. The instructions and all the necessary hardware are all included. This is going to attach to open utility trailers with side rails anywhere from 10 inches to 24 inches high. The side rails can be square tubing, they can be round tubing, or they can be angle ironed. This is a very versatile system. It's going to work on almost any trailer out there. It's going to work on trailers with standard tailgates from 4 feet to 6 feet tall, and it's going to work with tailgates up to 300 pounds. So this has a really high weight capacity at 300 pounds. So the way this unit works is tha
