The Volvo XC40 AWD is a compact and lightweight coupling (BorgWarner Gen. 5) distributes the engine’s power between the front and rear wheels. Under normal, dry conditions practically all of the power is distributed to the front wheels. The system constantly calculates the need for torque to the rear wheels and can instantly redistribute up to 50 percent of the engine’s torque to the rear wheels.
