PokerCoaching coach Lexy Gavin reviews some poker hands that have been played by a student when they are deep in a poker tournament. She discusses how you should be very aware of your opponent’s stack sizes as this should affect your poker strategy. Deep in poker tournaments the average stack size will be much shorter than when the tournament begins so you must be willing to adapt to maximize your winnings! Blockers is an important concept that Lexy discusses and when you have strong hands that do not block a lot of the draws on co-ordinated boards you should be more inclined to bet. Lexy talks about the merits of using a smaller bet size with your strong value hands when the effective stack is shallow. This will give an opportunity to your opponents to over play their poker hands and check/shove which allows you to maximize the amount you win! 0:00 - Intro 0:17 - Be Aware Of Stack Sizes 1:23 - How To Play Pocket Aces 5:05 - Don’t Overplay Your Hand 8:54 - Why You Shouldn’t Min-Raise 3-Bet 12:56 - How To Choose Your Bet Size 15:37 - When To Shove Or Call 17:07 - Should You Bet Small On The Flop? 18:44 - When To 3-Bet Shove From The Small Blind 19:42 - How To Induce From Worse Hands 23:14 - When To Lead From The Big Blind 24:44 - Stop Min-Raising With Your 3-Bets 26:25 - Outro On this Poker Coaching channel we cover a weekly poker topic to help improve your poker strategy!
