Dr Alex Mowat’s training has provided her with the skills to offer comprehensive treatment options for women with gynaecological and pelvic floor problems including vaginal prolapse, urinary and faecal incontinence which are very common, particularly after childbirth. She has received training from an international expert in complicated vaginal mesh removal and fistula repairs at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Dr Mowat is a lecturer at the University of Queensland and is widely published in peer reviewed journals, particularly in the field of surgery for pelvic floor dysfunction. Her training in gynaecology and obstetrics also places her well to provide women with general gynaecological care. Her professional relationships with other specialists including colorectal surgeons and pelvic floor physiotherapists ensure that women receive holistic and multidisciplinary care as needed. Other services include mobile urodynamic studies and pelvic floor ultrasound at each consultation site.
