2024 Rapido 60 Cruisers version sailing trimaran. Warranty delays on a new 60' Multihull sailboat, including rudder damage. Sailing from HCMC, Vietnam to Phuket, Thailand. Haul-out and repair work. The top speed on this boat during this first voyage was 27 knots. It sails really well, but it's been left in disrepair. When will Rapido finish the warranty work on this boat? patreon.com/PerformanceTrimaran A little more background on the delays. After Rapido left from their first repair visit, I was not satisfied with the repairs, I wanted to be able to trust it would last. I spoke to the builder and made an offer to build a new rudder case, the one that was supposed to be included in the original build, but for some reason was not delivered. The offer I made was to be paid after all the repairs were completed, including other warranty items. This was an important part of my offer, as already so much time has been wasted waiting. This offer was made in July, they said it would take 30 days to complete. The offer to be paid was to deduct the hardstand storage after the 30 day period they said it would take. This was also important to being sure things would be repaired timely and I would limit expenses that were beyond my control. The repair workers came back in September to being installing a new rudder case, a new Hydraulic steering ram, and changes to the layout of the steering. They left before completion, while it was raining, I did not expect they would be gone for so long. I was then asked to pay for the full offer amount before they would return. I was not okay with this, what if the work was not done satisfactorily. They also were not deducting the storage as was in my offer, so my expenses were adding up. I then asked them to repair and install the old rudder if they could not honor the original offer. There was also a shipping bill they said I would be obligated to pay, but would not present an invoice when asked for how much it was. This is the "Cruisers Version" as they call it. The bulkheads are carbon, but areas of the hull are fiberglass, to my understanding. It was previously being prepared as a charter boat, but that sale did not complete. Since some renovations had to be made to it, it was then offered to me at a discount, and was to be ready in 3 months, back in 2021. The boat was not completed until 2024 (still costing 7 figures in the end) and I feel it was portrayed to me as it being a new boat. I'll share more of the story in the next video.
