Such management does not exist. We think that someone is needed to organise these things. All the people who have been plucked out have been found by their own families and those under the debris now have lost all members. No one can locate them." 17. Wide shot of graves STORYLINE: With no new survivors pulled from the rubble of Friday's earthquake in Iran, the focus has shifted to treating the injured and homeless - and burying the corpses that are still being extracted. Emergency workers in Bam continue to dig trenches for corpses wrapped in white shrouds. Thousands have already been buried. Distraught relatives gather at the gravesides to mourn their loss. Ted Peran, the United Nation's top official in Bam put the toll at 28-thousand killed and 12-thousand others injured. With cool temperatures - that drop to near freezing at night - the risk of epidemic was lower than it would be in warmer weather, Peran said, adding there were no reports of disease so far. President Mohammed Khatami said Tuesday the toll was expected to top 30-thousand - roughly a third of the population in this southeastern city - but said the figure "definitely won't reach 40-thousand."
