Veteran Jamaican sports journalist Leighton Levy @MissaAnalyst and Dwaine @SportsTalkTech are back for a live show! 🎙️ We’ll be breaking down the New Balance Indoor 2026 Join the conversation! Josh Hoey delivered the headline performance of the night, breaking the men’s 800m short track world record with a time of 1:42.50, shaving 0.17 seconds off Wilson Kipketer’s long-standing 1997 mark. Paced aggressively by his brother Jaxson, Hoey went through 400m in 50.21 and 600m in 1:16.19 before closing strongly to win by more than two seconds. The race confirmed Hoey’s emergence as the fastest indoor 800m runner in history. Boston also saw multiple distance milestones. Hobbs Kessler broke the 2000m short track world best, running 4:48.79, overtaking Kenenisa Bekele’s 2006 mark. Grant Fisher finished second in 4:49.48, with four athletes cracking the all-time top ten. In the men’s 3000m, Cameron Myers ran a meeting record 7:27.57, moving into the world all-time top ten and setting the fastest indoor 3000m ever by an Oceanian athlete. On the women’s side, Elle St. Pierre made a strong return to competition, winning the 3000m in a world-leading 8:26.54, less than a year after giving birth to her second child. Roisin Willis set an early world lead in the women’s 800m with 1:59.59, while Dorcus Ewoi won the women’s 1500m in a world-leading 4:01.22. The sprints delivered drama as well. Jereem Richards edged Noah Lyles by just 0.01 seconds in the men’s 300m, 32.14 to 32.15. Ackeem Blake won the men’s 60m in 6.53, and Dina Asher-Smith claimed the women’s 60m in 7.08. In hurdles, Danielle Williams ran a world-leading 7.87 to defeat Devynne Charlton in the women’s 60m hurdles, while Trey Cunningham matched the world lead with 7.48 in the men’s race. #WorldAthletics #TrackAndField #WorldIndoorChampionships Want to create live streams like this?
