Tinchuley is a mountain village near Darjeeling.The calm ambience of Tinchuley while being endowed with the abundance of natural beauty has made Tinchuley the new offbeat destinations of Darjeeling. The word Tinchuley stands for ' Three Chulaa or ovens.'It has got its name because of the three hill tops surrounding the place which looks like Chullas or Oven. It is located at 5500 feet altitude.It is about 32km away from Darjeeling. How to reach ? You can take cab from Njp station to reach Tinchuley..or can book a cab from Darjeeling to Tinchuley. Hotels and Homestays There are no hotels in Tinchuley only 9 Homestays are there in Tinchuley. As it a remote place it's better to book online then visit the place. We stayed in Yolmo Resort and Homestays. It is a British construction where once a British soldier lived who was very rude and used to shoot everybody for small reasons..The Homestays is surrounded by forest which make it a thrilling experience in the night.As leopard are often seen its preferred not to venture out in the night.Their are various stories of haunted or paranormal activities in the nearby areas...as the place is serene far away from hustle bustle of city life make it perfect place for a weekend gateway.
