Supernatural: Crowley vs. Lucifer -- Starboy (The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk)

ALL CLIPS BELONG TO THE CW. Spoilers up to 12x08. Strong language warning. Song belongs to/is by The Weeknd and Daft Punk. This really was supposed to be a destiel upload of some kind (not this song though). Like, I was all hyped and ready to make y'all cry with feels. Until this song got stuck in my head. I actually hated it at first. But if you really listen, it becomes this fantastic dark commentary on stardom and what we make our celebrities into. This is so not a happy song. "Look what you've done" -- the chorus asks of us, the listeners, or maybe even the singer himself. What has he/us made himself into? Then it hit me -- who do I know on supernatural that are starboys, big shots who slowly ruined themselves? Crowley and Lucifer. The fandom sort of skids over the bloody, messy, violent things these characters have done. Because in general, they are funny, likeable characters. Who just so happen to have done some god awful things. Which to me is similar to celebrities that we still hold dear despite questionable activities or beliefs. What comes first -- the fame or the hedonism? Does fame corrupt, or if it does was the basis for it already there? Not really the point of this edit though xD. What I was trying to show was the rise and fall of the crowlster and luci. And show some of the situations in which they have gone directly up against each other. Though Lucifer is a much bigger deal to Crowley than vice versa. Crowley sees Luci as the embodiment of the fall of Hell, while Lucifer sees Crowley as a bug he has to keep smushing. Well, I guess we know who won that little war. Ciao, Luci. Payback's a bitch. But hell still thinks Crowley's a joke, so much of the banishing of Lucifer was little more than a personal win (that he did not accomplish on his own at all lol cough Rowena [and cas and the boys]). So, honestly, I'm not sure why I made this other than to get the damn song out of my head. It doesn't break new ground nor tell a complete story. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed it! :-) (in a couple days I have a little surprise to upload though -- it's about time considering we're already past the midseason finale)
