Refit update 70ft Trully Classic Hoek Design 'KIM' - Part 2

Watch the latest updates on the refit project of the truly classic 70 ft Hoek design “Kim”: a classic sailing yacht undergoing a detailed refit, including an engine room makeover, the installation of a piano, and much more. First of all, we installed two removable stainless steel davits on the port side so a bathing platform can be fitted later, custom-built to match the yacht’s design. A bespoke Bimini mounted on deck now provides UV protection for sailing in tropical waters a challenging but rewarding fit for the ketch rig. Inside, we removed the varnish from the countertops and traditional taps (which are being cleaned and reinstalled to preserve the classic look), sanded and re-varnished the mahogany surfaces, and began reinstating the piano: a unique feature the yacht originally had. We’ve also fitted new stainless steel tanks in a strong aluminium frame, and tackled a full renovation of the steering installation. In the engine room, the fuel and bilge systems are complete, and next up is the electrical system. In the coming weeks, we will complete most of the remaining refit items.
