'When all life counts in conservation' Dr Arian Wallach, UTS, and Professor Danielle Celermajer, The University of Sydney Conservation biology involves the collection and analysis of data, but these scientific practices occur against the background of values that shape what and how we count. Currently, data is filtered by a value system which considers “native” life as the only appropriate subjects of conservation concern. Dr Arian Wallach and Professor Danielle Celermajer examine how trends in species richness, distribution, and threats change when all wildlife count.
