“You don't have to be perfect” is a phrase we hear often when hearing about being a believer in Christ. Although we hear it often many of us still find ourselves feeling the pressures and being having to be perfect and the guilt and shame of not being perfect. As Christians: 1. We HAVE been delivered from the penalty of sin (Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus) 2. We are BEING delivered from the habit of sin. 3. We SHALL be delivered from the presence of sin With that being said for the rest of our lives we are BEING delivered from the habit of sin and will consistently be a work in progress. Our righteousness comes through faith. Supporting Scripture: Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
