On Sunday, September 22nd, I got two RJ Corman trains coming through Lexington near the yard. The CKL01 job on its way to drop cars for NS T66 was a bit of a surprise. It's typically harder to get any action on the Versailles branch due to it usually only running as needed, and the train that makes the full run across usually only runs during the week. I was glad to be able to catch them running across the Manchester St crossing. Shortly after, the daily Z544 Alcan train makes its run across Thompson Road. Even without the 50th Anniversary units, this train never fails to impress. Sadly, no more mechanical bells on Thompson Road. The crossing on Third Street next to Newtown Pike got a complete upgrade recently. It went from Safetran to a WCH set with NEG electronic bells, my least favorite personally, but it is a Western Cullen Hayes crossing gate setup. The conductor on this train is really cool too. The following weekend after this, I couldn't upload like I hoped to, before getting really busy, due to power outages, but I ended up meeting him accidentally at a restaurant, and he said he had recognized me from this trip. I won't mention his name for privacy reasons, but I do want to take this moment to thank him for taking the moment to introduce himself to me, and tell me more about the job.
