One of the premier music schools in Ohio, Capital University students experience learning in a recording studio environment with hands-on assignments in how to record, mix and produce music from a variety of genres. Students learn audio and sound production skills through a broad engaging curriculum taught by experienced composition, music technology, and audio production faculty who work in the fields of studio production, audio post production, live sound, music production, music composition, and music entrepreneurship. Film scoring, film production, video production and other music industry related classes are also part of the curriculum in our school. We encourage students to use our six professional recording studios and pro audio production services throughout their time in school. Our recording studios featuring Avid Pro Tools HD, Apple Logic, analog recording and digital recording methods and solutions for music, film, audio and other areas of sound. The Capital University Apple Macintosh computer lab is equipped with recording interfaces at each station, pro tools recording software, logic recording and sequencing software popular in many schools and cutting-edge mixing, editing and mastering software for recording and sequencing music, voiceovers and midi instruments. While attending school at Capital University, Music Technology students take part in internships for school credit, of which over 120 different locations have provided diverse real-world opportunities in music production, sound recording and mixing, live sound and other fields related to film, broadcast and audio production. Our graduates that have taken their music technology skills to great successes within the music industry in film studios, recording studios and other areas of audio and music production. We encourage students to explore the music recording industry and, in addition to teaching skills in audio and music production, provide an understanding of the entrepreneurship, marketing, music management, creative aspects of music technology.
