South Africa Now | 27 March 2026 In today’s update, severe weather, road incidents, wildlife encounters and lifestyle moments are captured from across the country. In Gauteng, a truck is reported overturned on the N3 Johannesburg-bound, while rainy conditions are experienced in Riversdale, Meyerton. Everyday scenes are also captured at an outdoor mall in Alberton. In the Northern Cape, heavy rain is reported in Kathu, while flooding is seen in Kuruman. Rain is also captured in McCarthy’s Rest near the Botswana border. In Mpumalanga, stormy conditions are recorded in Mbombela, while wildlife is seen in their natural habitat at Tanda Tula Safari Camp in the Greater Kruger National Park. In the Western Cape, travel is affected as a truck is reported stuck at the Huguenot Tunnel near Cape Town. Coastal and lifestyle highlights include sea views across Cape Town, beach scenes from Hartenbos, and a foggy morning at the V&A Waterfront. Unique moments include a monkey attempting to grab a visitor’s beach bag in Simon’s Town, while visitors enjoy live music entertainment in Cape Town. Additional travel scenes include views from the Atlantic Rail train passing through Mossel Bay. In Limpopo, a peaceful sunset is captured in Modimolle. In the Eastern Cape, community and lifestyle moments include Thursday night games at the Old Boys Club in East London, along with scenic views from the Nahoon River mouth and farming life in Queenstown. In KwaZulu-Natal, sporting action is seen during LMS Rugby Week at Lucas Meyer Laerskool in Vryheid.
