A barn owl mother diligently departs her nest, leaving behind three vulnerable nestlings as she embarks on a hunting expedition. In her absence, an intruding barn owl of foreign origin infiltrates the nest, ruthlessly taking the lives of all three fledglings and devouring a portion of their delicate forms. The female intruder appears driven by a primal instinct to claim the nest box for breeding purposes, possibly eliminating the existing offspring as a means to secure her territorial dominance. The stark possibility lingers that hunger may have fueled her aggression. Upon the return of the grieving mother to the heart-wrenching scene, a fierce confrontation ensues. The bereaved mother valiantly stands her ground, engaging in a protracted and grueling battle against the invader. The struggle persists until, after a prolonged conflict, the intruder is ultimately compelled to retreat, leaving behind a somber aftermath of loss and resilience in the avian realm. These videos are meant to document the lives of wild barn owls in order that we can learn more for both educational & research purposes and serve as an aid for the species conservation effort. We do not set up/ stage or intervene. All the videos are documenting wild barn owls.
