For our latest unboxing review, we have for you the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport which, according to chief Corvette engineer Tadgue Juechter, is the Corvette for purists. And we believe him. What's important to understand is that the Grand Sport isn't just a simple trim package, but a fully developed driving machine slotted in between the base C7 Stingray and hardcore Z06. It is suited to those that don't want the power of the Z06 but are clamoring for something better than the Stingray. The Grand Sport is the ideal solution. Powered by the same LT1 6.2-liter V8 as the Stingray, with a total of 460 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque, 0-60 mph happens in a brief 3.8 seconds while top speed is clocked at 175 mph. Our Corvette Grand Sport tester came with the optional 2LT Package ($4,455, which included heated and ventilated seats, premium audio system, color head-up display and front curb view cameras, among other cool stuff.) The Grand Sport comes standard with several things that are optional on the Stingray, specifically a dual-mode exhaust system and the dry-sump arrangement of the Z51 package. The exterior also benefits from the Z06's wide body features, such as the side rocker extensions. It's one hell of a bargain, overall, with a base price of $65k. Enjoy the review!
