An improved completion of Lyn Hard Mode. 43 turns are taken so that means I shaved off just one turn from my previous run uploaded last summer ( • Fire Emblem 7 Blazing Sword: Lyn Hard Mode... ). However, this run has superior resource allocation in comparison, and that's the primary reason why I redid it - wasn't happy with how Lyn, Rath, Florina and Kent got some of the bosskills during the last run. Now Sain gets every single bosskill after his arrival, getting to 13/0 before promoting to beat up Lundgren. I'm really OCD about proper resource allocation / level-ups, so I won't have to feel sorry about giving meaty boss experience to the wrong characters, which is what I did last summer when I began this. Sain is blessed and his stats are pretty damn impeccable at the end of Lyn Mode, though he still wishes he had more skill for HHM boss slaying and more resistance for durability in some of the tougher maps to come. His intended purpose is to function as a second Marcus with more speed (quite a bit more indeed) and strength. There's insufficient space to describe everything but I'll provide quick comments leaving the video to tell the rest of the story. 0:00 Prologue - 5 The usual stuff. 4-turn only possible with rigging a crit against the boss. Lyn doesn't really need to be able to survive in her own mode (let alone Hector's) so levelling her is a mismanagement of resources. She's good as long as she's doubling the Fighters before Sain and Kent are able to do the same, and her offence becomes pretty good when she gets Mani Katti; too bad she can't take hits. 1:17 Chapter 1 - 4 Meet Sain and Kent - pick one and snowball their growth in LHM. I go with Sain for the Strength advantage. He gets every bosskill from this map until chapter 10. He also happens to be closer to combat than Kent in his fixed positions for the early maps. 3:08 Chapter 2 - 4 The quality of Sain's level-ups is of big importance (not just the number). 5:00 Chapter 3 - 3 Lyn's best performance in this game. Rescuedrop here and she'll clear most of the map of enemies. Sain would want to do the same but is out of range. 7:40 Chapter 4 - 8 A great opportunity to give Sain, Kent and Florina many (and good) levels. Florina's bad at combat for a long time, as she's too weak when using the Slim Lance, and loses too much AS to keep doubling (besides stuff like Soldiers) when wielding anything else. Still, an early flier with decent enough growths - it's a very good idea to baby her into something useable, and she receives the Angelic Robe later on once again. 14:59 Chapter 5 - 3 Sain deals with the boss instead of Lyn due to proccing good speed. I shop for Javelins. 18:04 Chapter 6 - 3 Nobody cares about the Armorslayer. Sain milks this map to get as much (little?) exp as possible because... 21:19 Chapter 7 - 1 ...in this map he needs 13 speed to double the boss with the Javelin. Kent gets there more reliably but Sain's been getting the bosskills so I had him reach 11 AS just barely on his way to the boss. Alternatively, Florina with 10 strength (yeah no) can 2RKO the boss without carrying anybody to him. Or you could hope for a Short Bow crit with Rath - really, the bosskilling character should continue bosskilling. 22:51 Chapter 7x - 3 A little more complicated than on the previous run because Kent didn't screw with Sain's experience (and therefore got less of it). He now needs two turns to deal with the Mercs whom he fails to double. Funny, considering doubling Mercs is one advantage Kent has over Sain (okay, also a little more HP and skill), but I guess I've been snowballing the other Cav's levelling for a reason. Sain is pretty much overkill at this point. Fun rescuechains with foot units. 27:20 Chapter 8 - 3 2-turn is possible if Sain lands a crapload of inaccurate hits on -reaver enemies on forts. Didn't want to rig my way in, so a 3-turn is realistic. Pretty cool map design for Lyn mode. 31:39 Chapter 9 - 3 Sain is a monster at this point, and levels up twice off Eagler with Nils's help. At 13/0, he's ready to promote now. 36:00 Chapter 10 - 3 Paladin Sain destroys Lundgren while the rest beat up mooks for self-improvement; Serra staffbots. Rath has been using Short Bow for doubled wexp gain; I want him to get to B bows before promoting. I also had fun with those long rescuechains in this map.
