Almost 10 years ago, I learned an A minor chord on the guitar for the first time and the melody for this song came through me. After writing, re-writing, recording, re-recording and having help from the right people we have been able to bring out the best in this song. Inspired by a Johnie Cash song, "aint no grave" and mostly my upbringing attending the local Presbyterian church and Gospel Hall. As a youngster I carefully listened to the teachings, as I grew older I understandably developed a fear of the rapture, (as im not saved). I can recall many nights waking up in the middle of the night in a panic, not hearing my family, thinking the worst and then genuinely believing I was left behind to face Armageddon and the judgement day alone. When I was younger, feeling called by the Holy Spirit on quite a few occasions, I tried with all my heart to become a christian, I just couldn't seem to do it. To this day I do not consider myself a christian (even tho, I feel I still live my life by christian values). Im very grateful for my upbringing in the church and I understand the massive importance of the core values and knowledge in communities (especially in today’s society). Im very grateful to my mum and dad in how they raised their children❤️. Tho… I still DO believe in God, I pray most days. Ive asked God if he can use the song in his plan to do so (not that I can give permission it’s actually the other way around). I thank GOD for all the blessings in my life, family, friends and MUSIC. I haven't told anyone before but MUSIC, I believe saved my life, it got me through the most recent dark days. that's how important music is, it’s powerful! I have a lot of respect for the church and the word of God and it's not my intention to gain attention through this song, I feel its not really my song, it belongs to a higher power than I. I followed a calling, and if you are judging me negatively for putting this song out into the world, maybe its a sign you should spend less time judging others ACTIONS and more time following your own calling, the calling you have been avoiding for years. You cant change peoples perpective with judgement but you can with LOVE. The World is changed by your example, NOT your opinion. Sounds like an opportunity… I hope the song blesses all who hear it and remember we are just here for a fleeting time, encourage yourself and others. B L E S S I N G S !
