Can you beat Super Mario 64 with a toy controller?

I played Super Mario 64 using a Fisher Price toy modded to work as a functional controller and ended up doing my first ever BLJs, MIPS clip, and 16 star run. It was a lot of fun! It ended up being a 9 hour stream and my hand was destroyed by the end, the final Bowser fight was maybe the most difficult thing since there's so much rotating movement. Being a Super Mario 64 DS enjoyer, I've played SM64 with a dpad plenty, but nothing as rough as this one lol the buttons require so much pressure.
