"Poland in a Colonial World Order: Adjustments and Aspirations 1918-1939". A meeting about the Poland's foreign policy during the interwar era. In his book, Piotr Puchalski charts how the newly created Polish state adapted to the colonial nature of the interwar period to meet its domestic and foreign aims. For Polish leaders, taking a colonial or anti-colonial stance was instrumental to obtaining raw materials for industry, easing nationalist tensions, proposing technocratic commercial solutions, fighting communism, and building European alliances. Piotr Puchalski is Assistant Professor of Modern History at the Pedagogical University of Kraków (Poland), where he offers courses in the history of Poland, colonial empires, international relations, and contemporary tourism. He has previously published in the Historical Journal and the Journal of Modern European History. He holds a BA from New York University and a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. #Poland, #Polska, #historyofEurope, #historyofPoland, #PolishSecondRepublic, #Pilsudski, #jozefbeck https://www.pilsudski.org
