On May 31, 2009, the space shuttle Endeavour was released from its role as the rescue shuttle for the STS-125 mission and transferred from launch pad 39B to 39A in preparation for its primary assignment, the STS-127 mission. This transfer, known as a “rollaround,” marked the transition of Endeavour from standby to flight readiness.
