Considering, however, that the performer in this recording is a male singer, plus the fact that female roles often were sung by castrati during the Baroque era, I have taken poetic license by portraying the singer in this video as male. (My personal opinion is that I would have been more satisfied with the rendition of this aria in the film "Farinelli" had they used a voice so beautiful as this.)
