Compassion is the concept of Leon Aarts who has seen, first hand, the power of sharing a meal. In a world where the growing gap between human beings is ever wider sharing a meal with others has the power to shift our perceptions, to expand our views of equality and connection, and to take this away from the table. In Compassion we do just that, we share a meal with others. Compassion is a restaurant based around the principles of compassion and kindness. A restaurant that strives to provide the highest quality, local, organic, lovingly prepared food and a restaurant that exists to encourage connection and communication. To bring people and communities together in a space where everyone is equal and where everyone is encouraged to talk and share. Leon is a top-chef who had his own restaurant and was founder of Fill the Cup, a charity set up to help feed and educate children in developing countries simply by adding 20 cents to your meal. In his work setting up Calais Kitchens during the refugee crisis he realised that we are all looking for connection, the vision of Compassion, a restaurant where  everyone is welcome was born.
