Behind every project is a story. Here’s the story behind the landscaping project at the I-285 and Lawrenceville Highway Interchange in Tucker, Georgia. This transformation was funded by the Tucker-Northlake Community Improvement District (CID), the City of Tucker, and the Georgia Department of Transportation. Creating partnerships to elevate the community is at the heart of everything we do. Over 200,000 vehicle trips pass through this interchange each day, making it one of Tucker’s most visible front doors. The eight-acre site required a true partnership. The City funded most of the construction, while the CID funded the design and committed to long-term maintenance. Working with a leading highway landscape architect with experience in interstate corridors, the team delivered a transformation that is significant from what was there before. This project is one example of how the Tucker-Northlake CID and its partners are investing in public spaces, supporting local businesses, and helping Tucker stand out as a place that takes pride in itself and its future.
