This presentation will provide an overview of the point of care ultrasound applications that can be used to assess common vascular problems, including suspected lower extremity ischemia, lower extremity DVT, and abdominal aortic aneurysms. Ultrasound guidance for vascular access will also be discussed. Learning objectives: Recognize the difference between normal and abnormal Doppler flow signals in the lower extremity arteries. Understand how to identify proximal lower extremity DVT by 2-zone compression ultrasound. Discuss the rationale for abdominal aortic aneurysm screening with ultrasound.
