12:15 PM - IFD Firefighters conducted their 4th working Elevator Technical Rescue thus far this year - this time at 115 N Pennsylvania St. The two occupants told IFD they were in the elevator between floors 1 & 2 about an hour before being rescued by IFD. The man (60) was taken to Methodist for checkout. Photos posted with permission. The occupants, told firefighters that they were going from floor 1 to floor 6 when the elevator abruptly stopped and shook. The panel then displayed an out of service message. They called apartment management, who called 911 and had IFD dispatched. The system set up, which included manually stabilizing the car to prevent unwanted movement, a safety line for rescuers and victims, and retrieval took about 45 minutes. IFD had 13 Elevator Technical Rescues in 2025.
