In this video, I deal with everyday sailboat realities: rescuing my kayak after it comes loose, emptying the anchor locker, pulling out the anchor chain, and reinforcing the windlass mounting plate to better handle anchor pulling loads. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s essential for safe cruising. I also talk about the waiting season — waiting for parts, waiting for the right moment to move on. That frustration is balanced by quiet anchorages, calm water reflections, and the reminder that boat life often means fixing boats in some of the most beautiful places on earth.
