A one-of-a-kind encore for an unforgettable audience. After performing in over 20 countries, this summer I made my first ever concert in China! i love bringing popular classical music repertoire to the stage… but I also use every stage I’m given to spotlight incredible music that deserves far more attention. This encore is one of those hidden gems: Hindemith’s Solo Violin Sonata No. 6, 3rd movement - a work whose original manuscript was only rediscovered a few years ago. Even today, it’s almost unknown in the violin repertoire. I’m completely obsessed with its raw energy, razor-sharp precision and emotional intensity. To me, it feels like a descent into chaos - almost apocalyptic. I’ve performed this piece at Oxford University, across the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Poland, Armenia, and on BBC Radio 3… So yes, I love it. A lot.
